Hey Crew! Let’s be honest, I LOVE Target…ok, some may say I have an addiction (ahem my besties and husband), but it can be your gain, right?! Also full disclosure the new Universal Thread line is a bit more Madewell/Free People and I tend to be a bit more J.Crew, but I have to say I am really impressed. I have broken it down by style, pieces and over all thoughts below. It is A LOT, but I hope you find it helpful! I plan to review some other pieces that I will be ordering once everything goes live. And for a full shoe review, head over to my friend at My 9 to 5  Shoes tomorrow morning!

Denim

Overview: Extensive amount of sizes, aka style for all. The quality is incredibly impressive especially for the price point…all denim is under $37. T

Fit: Overall I would say these fit true to size. However in my opinion with this line and with denim in general is the lighter the wash, the smaller the fit–especially in the skinny/jegging cuts.  That being said I sized up in the lightest washes. Now let’s get onto the review by style:

Mid-rise destructed skinny, $27.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wMPa

As a girl who typically gravitates toward high rise, I really like the cut of these…I would say a tad higher than mid-rise and very flattering. The placement of the destruction is great so you don’t have that knee bulge…don’t know about you but I cannot wear jeans with the knees destructed because it literally looks like my knee skin is trying to escape or like stuffed sausages… one other note I love the funky bottom (they didn’t have the short in store, so I plan to pick up online tomorrow).

High-rise skinny crop, $24.99: http://shopstyle.it/l/wNoj

It is so hard to narrow down my favorites, because so many of these jeans are so good (basically all of them), however these are at the top of my list.  They don’t come in a short length but somehow fit exactly right. Love, love, love these!

High-rise release hem straight, $27.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wMY9

I am a newer convert to the straight leg jean depending on the fit…honestly the color and detailing on these were amazing but they don’t come in a short so the length was a little off for me and I didn’t love them enough to get them hemmed (because I loved so many other pairs too).

High-rise button fly skinny, $27.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wMN5

As you are all aware, I am a short girl clocking in at 5’1 and 3/4 (but whose counting, right?), however I have a very short torso and long legs. So I love these and button fly are all the rage right now, but they were too short in the rise for me, aka it appeared that my behind was trying to eat the jeans (I tried on two sizes). So don’t let this deter you from these, it was just the fit on me.

High-rise jegging, $34.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wMY9

Let me start with saying these came home with me…I love the fit and online they come in all different lengths, based on the photo they are supposed to be cropped but the regular version hits me like normal jeans. It was hard to chose between the light and the dark color, but I ended up going with the lighter pair, thus sized up.

Mid-rise skinny, $24.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wNmw

For a girl who typically goes for a high-rise, I was really into the fit and wash of these. They didn’t have the short in my store, so these may be going in my cart as well.

Mid-rise jegging, $24.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wNg5

These are great too! I have a preference for high-rise, but if you are a mid-rise wearer, I would definitely snag these.

High-rise tie front wide leg, $27.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wM5C

Ok, these were definitely WAY outside of my comfort zone but when in Rome, right? Well, I wish I would have taken a photo so you could have laughed with me…they are definitely on trend and would look great on many people but between my short torso and short stature it isn’t me.

Clothing:

Overview: I can’t say enough about the quality of this line…and they definitely have a good mix of on-trend and classic pieces.

Open layering cardigan, $24.99: http://shopstyle.it/l/wNhK

I have a love-hate relationship with cardigans I either love one or hate one. At first glance, I loved the look of this one, but wasn’t sure how it would fit and boy was I pleasantly surprised. It was hard to chose a color, but I ended up grabbing the olive. I plan to pair it with my black and white stripe tee and a lavender tee. Would also be great over a t-shirt dress. This is a must buy in my book.

V-neck tee (monterey pocket), $8http://shopstyle.it/l/wM9z

These tees are AMAZING, my new favorite. Just the right mix of fitted and loose, not too see through and a great pocket. The color choices are fantastic–I want all of them and the price tag makes that feasible! Another must buy.

Tie-front sweater, $21.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wNiI

This was top of my list when they first released the look-book, so I couldn’t wait to try it on and it DOES NOT disappoint. It is soft, cute and the tie details is great. One note, it is a bit cropped so definitely plan to pair it with high-rise pants/jeans or pop something underneath. Another MUST from this line.

V-neck tunic sweater, $24.99: http://shopstyle.it/l/wNjB

This is one that caught my eye from the look-book as well and in person I wasn’t a fan. That is only because it is really see through…in fairness Target does show it with a shirt underneath so I should have known and confession, I am a weirdo about see through stuff…I have scoliosis (more on that another time), so I am pretty particular about the back of things and specifically when things are too sheer.

Sweatshirt, $19.99: http://shopstyle.it/l/wNeB

Doesn’t take much for me to like a sweatshirt, they are a staple for me and you see them on the blog often. I loved the color choices in this one, however the fit was just a bit too slouchy for my small frame.

Striped cropped jumpsuit, $27.99: http://shopstyle.it/l/wMZN

Let me start by saying this is cuter in person, but I will say that my lack of torso and height made this a no for me.

Accessories:

The jewelry (at least what I have seen so far) and handbags areAMAZING… I actually had a 1o min conversation with a Target jewelry employee aka one of my besties 😉 about the great quality.

Semi-precious healing stone necklace (small), $14.99http://shopstyle.it/l/wNaW

These are so beautiful–it was so hard for me to decide on which color to chose, I ultimately went with the blue because I don’t have a lot of blue toned necklaces.

Semi-precious healing stone necklace (big), $16.99: http://shopstyle.it/l/wNb7

Loved this one too, is adjustable, which is key for me with long necklaces…the rose was my personal favorite in the bigger necklace.

Cross body saddle bag, $21.99: http://shopstyle.it/l/wNdU

This is by far one of my favorite purchases. The details make it look incredibly high end and the color is fantastic. Definitely will be a go to bag this spring/summer.
