Hey Crew! This is a post that has been a long time in the making….a chance to have my mom aka the person who started and completely enables (in a good way) my love for fashion. For as long as I can remember my mom not only put together great looks for her but for my sister and I, from coordinating dresses to slouch socks, my mom always knew the latest trend and indulged us. However the most important thing my mom taught me when it comes to fashion/style is that you don’t have to spend a lot to look great. Of course, certain pieces are worth investing in (look for a post on this later) and others you can achieve a high end look for a small price. So here are my mom’s top pearls of wisdom for finding pieces that look high end and then check out our pearl inspired looks below.

Pearls of Wisdom:

  1. Look for details- gold buttons, trimmed faux leather, etc.
  2. Feel the material and be honest with yourself–some faux leather, fur, suede, etc look great online and in person not so much….as much as  you love a piece if it doesn’t stack up even at a good price leave it.
  3. Alter it–if you find a great piece but the fit is a bit off or you can switch out buttons, scoop it up at the lower price and invest a bit in alterations, in the end you will find it still costs less than many of the high-end versions.
